On the occasion of its 75th anniversary, Medtronic has brought 75 cutting-edge innovative achievements to the China Medical Equipment Conference. The "aircraft carrier" of the medical device industry once again demonstrates its calm and steady charm.
From March 28 to 31, 2024, the China Medical Equipment Conference and the 2024 Medical Equipment Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "CAME") was grandly held in Chongqing, China.
The theme of this year's conference is "Focus on Cutting-edge Technologies, Lead Innovation and Development" as the theme, inviting relevant leaders from the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Health Commission, the National Healthcare Security Administration, the National Medical Products Administration, the National Intellectual Property Administration, and other related departments, as well as enterprises, institutions, research organizations, service platforms, academicians, renowned experts, deans, and entrepreneurs. Focusing on technological innovation, industrial development, and clinical applications of medical equipment, the event will analyze relevant policies, explore industry development trends, showcase the latest technologies, exchange ideas on discipline construction, share work experiences, promote the safe and effective application of medical equipment, and drive high-quality industry development.
As the vice chairman unit of the China Association of Medical Equipment, Medtronic has participated in CAME for the third time this year. At this year's CAME, the Medtronic booth covers an exhibition area of 180 square meters, with seven business departments participating together: Cardiac Rhythm Management, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Ablation Solutions, Structural Heart Disease, Aortic and Peripheral Vascular Health, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, and ENT and General Surgery.
During the four-day exhibition,Medtronic will present 75 innovative products and therapies, and host several themed forums including "Leading the Heart Rhythm Journey, Innovation Without Limits – High-Level Forum on Innovative Therapies for Cardiac Rhythm" and "Pioneering with Cryo, Reigniting Life – Medtronic Electrophysiology Innovation Symposium," inviting guests from various disease fields to engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as innovative technologies and clinical medicine.Flow, in order to promote the close integration and coordinated development of "industry, academia, research, and application."
During the same period, Medtronic's "Angel of Science" outreach initiative invited local medical students to visit the Medtronic booth, where they could closely observe and learn about innovative medical devices, experiencing the extraordinary appeal of Medtronic's cutting-edge technology.
Recently, the medical device industry website Medical Device+Diagnostic Industry (MD+DI) released the 2023 Top 100 Global Medical Device Companies list, with Medtronic still firmly holding the top position in the medical device industry.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of Medtronic. From its humble beginnings in a garage, it has now grown into a medical device "aircraft carrier" with annual revenues exceeding $30 billion. Medtronic has consistently brought new possibilities to patients through innovative technology. In 1989, Medtronic established an office in Shanghai, becoming one of the first multinational medical technology companies to enter China.
On the occasion of its 75th anniversary + 35th anniversary, Medtronic showcased 75 innovative products at CAME, making continuous improvements to healthcare services.
Among them, 7 are the key products and concepts for this exhibition:
●Micra™ AV2 & VR2 Transcatheter Leadless Pacemaker System

Micra has been hailed by media, including CCTV, as the "world's smallest pacemaker." Micra VR2 and Micra AV2 are the new generation of upgraded products, which were approved in the U.S. market in May 2023. While maintaining the same volume and weight as Micra VR and Micra AV, Micra VR2 and Micra AV2 have increased their lifespan by 40% through reduced chip power consumption and improved battery performance. Additionally, they feature smarter algorithms, which are expected to achieve higher implantation safety.
●Avalus Artificial Heart Valve

On January 18, 2022, Medtronic's Avalus bovine pericardial bioprosthesis was officially approved for marketing by the NMPA. This bioprosthesis is a new generation of bovine pericardial aortic valve based on Medtronic's 40 years of research and development. It features brand disruptive and revolutionary innovations in structure and design, offering surgeons a new option. According to the latest Perigon study released in 2021, the 5-year SVD incidence rate of Avalus is 0.
●Arctic Front Advance Pro™ Balloon Cryoablation Catheter

The Arctic Front Advance Pro series balloon cryoablation catheter is currently the first and only ablation catheter approved by the NMPA via an indication expansion pathway for use in both first-line treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (first-line treatment: after diagnosis, patients can directly undergo ablation surgery using the Medtronic balloon cryoablation catheter without prior medication) and treatment of drug-refractory persistent atrial fibrillation, ushering in a new era of first-line catheter ablation treatment for atrial fibrillation in China.
●Heli-FX™ EndoAnchor™ System Aortic EndoAnchor System

Heli-FX™ EndoAnchor System is suitable for the fixation and sealing between endovascular aortic stent grafts and native arteries. The ESAR procedure demonstrated a Type I endoleak rate of only 2.5% at one year in the ANCHOR global multicenter, real-world study, with five-year follow-up data showing just 4.8%. The ESAR procedure using the Heli-FX™ EndoAnchor System in combination with the Endurant Stent Graft System can be applied to patients with aortic neck lengths as short as 4mm to less than 10mm, allowing more patients to benefit from endovascular therapies.
●AiBLE™ Innovative Digital Ecosystem

The AiBLE™ Innovative Digital Ecosystem organically integrates Medtronic's globally leading implants with the Mazor X spinal surgical navigation and positioning system, Stealth Autoguide cranial surgical positioning equipment, surgical navigation systems, surgical power systems, and other intelligent devices. Connected by big data and empowered by AI, it achieves synergistic benefits, making spinal and neurosurgical procedures smarter. ●Stealth Station ENT Navigation System for Otolaryngology Surgery

StealthStation ENT can provide assurance for ENT surgeries, shorten operation time, and boost the surgeon's confidence. The navigation 3D modeling function allows for a more intuitive explanation of the patient’s condition, building a communication bridge between doctors and patients.
●Signia™ Stapling System Electric Stapler Handle and Accessories

Signia is an intelligent stapling system that detects tissue thickness through intelligent adaptive stapling technology, provides real-time feedback on tissue information via an OLED display, and actively adjusts the firing speed to help surgeons achieve personalized surgical plans based on tissue differences. Signia and the full range of intelligent cartridges have officially received approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), marking the transition from traditional mechanical stapling to intelligent stapling and empowering smart surgery.
At the exhibition site, the two innovation center display areas of Medtronic also attracted many visitors to stop.
