Shanghai Securities News, China Securities Network -- On March 31, Danaher Corporation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Management Committee of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area. The two parties will jointly build the Danaher Western Innovation Center project to serve the pharmaceutical research and innovation transformation in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
It is reported that, as part of this project, Danaher will also establish a Life Sciences Research Institute here. This will be the third research institute set up in China by Danaher's Life Sciences platform, following Shanghai and Guangzhou, to serve the development of cutting-edge application methods for biopharmaceuticals and precision medicine. Meanwhile, Cytiva (思拓凡), a subsidiary of Danaher, will establish the Cytiva West China Science and Innovation Center to carry out biopharmaceutical process technology development, talent training, project incubation and transformation, and health economics evaluation.
According to the company introduction, Danaher's Western Innovation Center is the first Fortune Global 500 multinational pharmaceutical enterprise project introduced to Chongqing Liangjiang New Area. Currently, Liangjiang New Area is developing the life health industry as a pillar industry, following the development concept of "one city, two parks, and two centers," accelerating the establishment of three landmark industrial clusters in medical devices, biologics, and chemical preparations, as well as three emerging industries in new Chinese medicine, new services, and new healthcare.
