Bayer

Sebastian Guth will serve as Bayer's newly established Chief Operating Officer, continuing to report to Stefan Oelrich, President of Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division. Starting June 1, Christine Roth, head of the Oncology Strategic Business Unit, will lead the newly formed "Global Commercialization" organization. Christian Rommel and Holger Weintritt will continue to oversee global research and development and global product supply, respectively.

Boehringer Ingelheim

Boehringer Ingelheim announced that Jonathan Chin will assume the role of General Manager of the Human Pharma Division for Greater China on April 15, 2024. He will continue as a member of Boehringer Ingelheim’s Greater China Management Team and report to Hua Ting Gao, President and CEO of Greater China. Jonathan Chin joined Boehringer Ingelheim in 2002 and has served as General Manager of Boehringer Ingelheim Hong Kong since May 2022.

GSK

GSK China announced that Zhai Tingting, currently the core business, anti-infective and R&D finance director, will take on the role of China Compliance Head. She will report directly to GSK Vice President and GCI Compliance Officer Christine Ng, and join the GSK China leadership team. The current GSK China Compliance Head, Zhang Xuhao, has served for over four years, with his term ending in July this year. Zhai Tingting has previously worked at the Investment Banking Department of HSBC Hong Kong and the Strategy Development Department of China Merchants International. She later joined Eli Lilly, serving in roles such as finance and internal consultant. In early 2014, Zhai Tingting left Eli Lilly to join GSK's finance department, successively holding positions such as CFO for prescription drugs and vaccines, CFO for the prescription drug supply chain, and R&D Finance Director.

Edwards Lifesciences announced that Benjamin Cheong will serve as the Senior Vice President of Greater China. He will officially join Edwards Lifesciences on April 8. Benjamin Cheong formally stepped down as Managing Director of Teleflex China on March 22. He has held key positions at Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and others.

BioMarin Pharmaceutical

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. announced that Cristin Hubbard has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. Hubbard will succeed Jeff Ajer and take charge of the company's global commercial operations starting from May 20th. With over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical and diagnostics industries, she most recently served as the Global Head of Product Strategy at Roche Pharmaceuticals, where she was responsible for lifecycle management and accelerating the delivery of the company’s drugs from development to commercialization across five therapeutic areas. Prior to that, she held the position of Global Head of Diagnostic Partnerships at Roche Diagnostics. Having worked at Roche and Genentech for more than 16 years, she has held senior roles in multiple therapeutic areas, including immunology, infectious diseases, oncology, ophthalmology, and hemophilia.

Abcam

Abcam Appoints Markus Lusser as President. Markus, a seasoned executive from Danaher, joined Abcam at a pivotal time when Danaher acquired the company and integrated it into its life sciences business portfolio. Markus joined Danaher in 2011, previously serving as Vice President and Customer Director of the Life Sciences Innovations Group. Before that, he held the position of President at Leica Microsystems (LMS). Prior to joining Danaher, Markus held senior roles in large global commercial organizations, including a 20-year tenure at Siemens Healthineers.

Takeda

Takeda China Appoints Liu Yan, Former Head of Hemophilia and Rare Diseases Business Unit, as the Head of Takeda China's Gastroenterology Business Unit, Effective from March 31. Meanwhile, Liu Yan will concurrently act as the head of the Hemophilia and Rare Diseases Business Unit until the new appointee assumes the position. She has held key positions in strategic consulting, oncology, women’s health, marketing, and sales at Bayer China, Procter & Gamble UK, and China. Liu Yan joined Takeda China on March 31, 2021.

Parexel Announces Chief Operating and Growth Officer Peyton Howell to Succeed Current CEO Jamie Macdonald, Who Is Retiring on May 15, 2024. Macdonald Will Continue to Serve on the Board Until the End of 2024 and Act as an Industry Advisor to EQT Group as Well as the Company's Largest Individual Investor. Howell Joined in 2018. Ms. Howell Currently Represents Parexel as the Chair of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO), Having Previously Served as a Director on the ACRO Board. Everest Medicines Appoints Qingwen Zeng as Chief Medical Officer and Xu Liang as Chief Product Officer. Qingwen Zeng will be responsible for the clinical development team and cross-departmental collaboration, while Xu Liang will oversee strategic management of the marketing and medical affairs department. Prior to joining Everest, Qingwen Zeng served as the Global Development Program Lead for the hematology oncology therapeutic area at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS). Before that, Ms. Zeng held the position of Clinical Development Lead at Celgene and BMS China. Before joining Everest Medicines, Mr. Liang served as the General Manager for Greater China at Brii Biosciences. Previously, he held various leadership roles, including Executive Director, at Gilead China. In addition, Mr. Xu Liang has also held management positions such as Marketing Director at Roche, Novartis, and Amgen.

Heinz-Josef Lenz, M.D., Joins Adagene’s Scientific and Strategic Advisory Board. Adagene announced that Heinz-Josef Lenz, M.D., has joined its Scientific and Strategic Advisory Board. Dr. Lenz, a globally renowned oncology expert, possesses deep insights and extensive experience, particularly in colorectal cancer and anti-CTLA-4 therapy. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of Clinical Research at the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Keck Medicine of USC, and is dedicated to the development of innovative drugs for gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. Lenz believes that anti-CTLA-4 therapy shows significant potential in treating microsatellite-stable colorectal cancer and addresses unmet clinical needs.

ASYMCHEM announced that the company's board of directors has approved the appointment of Zhang Da as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Due to a job change, Zhaobing Xiang has requested to resign from his positions as an eighth-term board director, member of the Board Strategy Investment Committee, and president. After the resignation, he will no longer hold any position in CR SANJIU.
