Clamart, France — March 18, MicroPort CRM®Cardiac Rhythm Management (MicroPort®MicroPort CRM's implantable Bluetooth pacemaker Alizea™ and its accompanying VEGA™ pacing lead successfully completed the first commercial implant in the United States. The procedure was performed by Dr. Jerry Floro at PIH Health Downey Hospital in California, USA.
Alizea™ Pacemaker is minimally invasive®The latest pacemaker developed by MicroPort Cardiac Rhythm Management has a volume of only 11cc, with an expected battery life of up to 13 years, making it the longest-lasting pacemaker in the market for its size. Alizea™ features wireless Bluetooth technology, providing patients with remote monitoring services that are as effective as in-person postoperative follow-ups.
In addition, it is also equipped with minimally invasive®Advanced features developed for cardiac rhythm management include: AutoMRI™ technology, which allows the pacemaker to automatically switch to a pre-set MRI mode when the patient undergoes an MRI scan, enabling them to receive 1.5/3.0T magnetic resonance imaging with MRI mode pre-programming available up to ten days in advance; SafeR™ technology, which effectively reduces unnecessary ventricular pacing—clinical data shows that this mode significantly lowers the risk of atrial fibrillation, hospitalization due to heart failure, and cardiac death; Dual sensors, where Alizea™ combines minute ventilation and accelerometer sensors to simulate the patient’s natural physiological response to movement, automatically programming by learning the patient’s daily activity levels to achieve appropriate heart rate responses.
Dr. Jerry Floro said, "I believe that the excellent battery life, advanced algorithms, and mobile remote monitoring capabilities provided by the Alizea™ pacemaker system can play a key role in delivering clinical efficacy, safety, and convenience to patients."
In addition to the Alizea™ pacemaker, the suite of products also includes the VEGA™ active fixation pacing lead, SmartTouch XT™ tablet programmer, and SmartView Connect™ Bluetooth mobile remote monitor. Through the SmartView Connect™ mobile remote monitor, patients can be followed up remotely by healthcare professionals post-operation, eliminating the need to visit a clinic just for routine pacemaker checks, thereby reducing the burden on the healthcare system.
