On April 18, the launch ceremony for the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park partnership was grandly held at the headquarters of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. Ma Jian, co-founder and CEO of XtalPi, along with representatives from the first batch of contracted companies, joined together with Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Company.SignMemorandum of Cooperation. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,Deputy Financial Secretary, Mr. Norman Chan, andSun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR Governmentand other officials witnessed the signing ceremony and had a cordial meeting with representatives from XtalPi and other companies after the ceremony.

The first batch of signed partners for the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park consists of companies and institutions from 9 different economies, including AstraZeneca, Alibaba Group, Lenovo Group, China Merchants Group, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and the University of Hong Kong.

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chao said in his speech at the launch ceremony that the event marks an important milestone for the development of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HK-SZ ITP). The HK-SZ ITP plays a crucial role in the innovation and technology development of Hong Kong, and the Futian/Shenzhen River Delta area will become a key region for Hong Kong-Shenzhen innovation and technology, transcending geographical restrictions with the Chinese mainland. He pointed out that the HK-SZ ITP will help attract talent and investment, and Hong Kong is well-positioned to promote new quality productive forces. Going forward, the government will continue to collaborate with Shenzhen to provide more cross-border facilitation measures for partners within the innovation and technology park.

Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR GovernmentHe pointed out in his speech that the cooperation between Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park and dozens of enterprises is an important milestone, and for start-up companies, it is just the beginning. He emphasized that the government will continue to support the development of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park. "To achieve the goal of making Hong Kong an international innovation and technology center, the cooperation among government, industry, academia, research, and investment is crucial. Today's ceremony marks our efforts towards achieving this common vision."

After the ceremony, Chief Executive John Lee met with Dr. Ma Jian, Co-founder and CEO of XtalPi, and heard about the achievements and progress made by XtalPi in serving global scientific and technological innovation through AI + robotics R&D infrastructure, promoting the digitalization, intelligence, and automation upgrade of the new drug and new materials industries. XtalPi is rooted in the Greater Bay Area, fully utilizing the efficiency advantages of China's innovative ecosystem and industrial R&D implementation, as well as Hong Kong’s superior conditions in scientific research resources and talent, actively promoting the multi-chain integration of Shenzhen and Hong Kong in innovation chain, supply chain, industry chain, capital chain, and talent chain.

In recent years, XtalPi has continuously strengthened its innovative collaborations with Hong Kong’s research institutions and advanced enterprises. These include: establishing cooperation with the Center for Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation at the University of Hong Kong to promote the commercialization of hard-core scientific and technological achievements; jointly signing industry-university-research and incubation innovation cooperation agreements with the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Collaborative Innovation Research Institute of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; forming a joint laboratory with the Futian Biomedical Innovation Research and Development Center of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen); and signing a research and development collaboration for an AI tumor vaccine platform and an AI molecular diagnostic model for cancer prognosis risk prediction with CK Life Sciences.

In the future, XtalPi will continue to leverage the resource complementarity and innovative collaboration between the Shenzhen and Hong Kong regions, continuously empower the Greater Bay Area, China, and even the global cutting-edge research and advanced technology industrial transformation, accelerate business expansion through open global cooperation, and make positive contributions to the benefit of the common destiny of humanity.

The Hetao Cooperation Zone is located in the cross-border area between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, boasting a unique collaborative development advantage with its "one zone, two parks" model, which includes the 87-hectare Hong Kong Park (i.e., the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park) and the 300-hectare Shenzhen Park. The Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park in the Lok Ma Chau Hetao Area spans 87 hectares and is the only innovation and technology park in Hong Kong directly connected to Shenzhen. It focuses on six key industries: life and health technology, artificial intelligence and data science, new energy, new materials, microelectronics, and robotics. At the launch ceremony, around 60 enterprise representatives signed a memorandum of understanding, officially becoming partners of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, marking an important milestone as the park prepares to enter the operational phase.
