Officials from the National Healthcare Security Administration and the National Medical Products Administration responded to journalists' questions regarding the regulation of contract manufacturing licensees in bidding, and strengthening quality supervision of selected drugs in centralized procurement. They stated that the next step for the National Healthcare Security Administration will involve collaborating with the National Medical Products Administration to enhance oversight of contract manufacturing licensees. Measures will be implemented in areas such as qualification for centralized procurement applications, selection rules, supply capacity, quality control, and product traceability, further maintaining fair market competition, ensuring supply stability, and guaranteeing drug quality.
For example, strictly declare qualifications, trace back and penetrate drugs involving the transfer of marketing authorization to block violations in obtaining bidding qualifications; conduct capacity investigations on enterprises involving contract manufacturing to prevent supply risks; welcome providing clues about improper bidding behaviors, increase the intensity of handling, and if necessary, discuss with and correct the involved enterprises. Those who voluntarily correct or provide valuable clues can be treated leniently according to laws and regulations, while those who refuse to rectify will be dealt with seriously.National Healthcare Security Administration)

Turkish Dentist Screws Implant into Patient's Brain Cavity
According to the Daily Mail report on April 22, Ramazan, a 40-year-old man from Turkey, went to a private dental clinic for surgery due to toothache. Unexpectedly, when the doctor tried to tighten the implant, it pierced through his jawbone and entered the brain cavity.
Report: At the time of the incident, the doctor involved, who claimed to have 24 years of experience, said that the equipment had malfunctioned and that the dental implant could only be done manually. Ramazan noticed that the doctor was applying excessive force while trying to tighten the screw, even hearing the sound of bone cracking. After pointing this out to the doctor, the doctor assured him that "it’s a normal phenomenon" and continued to apply force. As a result, the implant pierced through Ramazan's jawbone and entered the area behind his eye where the brain and cerebrospinal fluid are located. Ramazan screamed in agony. Realizing something was wrong, the doctor immediately took Ramazan to a local hospital and fled the scene. Ramazan underwent a CT scan and endured hours of surgery, but fortunately, the implant was successfully removed.
Currently, the dentist involved has refused to issue a refund and claimed that the incident was "due to medical complications." Ramazan is taking legal action against him.Vista看天下)
