SihuanPharm (00460) announced that to promote the deep application and industrialization of AI technology in the field of medical aesthetics (aesthetics medicine) product development, the group has signed a framework agreement with Shenyuan Zhiyao Biotechnology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (Shenyuan Zhiyao). The two parties will establish together an AI-driven R&D company led by the group to collaboratively explore the development of AI-powered new aesthetics medicine products, marking the group's strategic layout in the "AI + aesthetics medicine" innovation track entering a substantive phase.
In October 2024, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to David Baker and two other experts for their pioneering contributions to the field of AI-based protein structure research. This achievement represents not only the academic community's highest recognition of AI's empowering role in R&D, but also signals that AI will become a core driver in reshaping R&D paradigms and overcoming traditional R&D bottlenecks. In line with this industry trend, SihuanPharm's collaboration with Shenyuanzhimiao focuses on the key direction of "innovation in high-end medical aesthetics ingredients," aiming to build technological R&D barriers through synergistic innovation and secure a strategic leading position in medical aesthetics advancements.
The core of this collaboration is the deep integration of resources and technology. The group contributes over two decades of industrial resources, commercialization channels, and R&D pipeline reserves in the medical aesthetics field, while Shenyuan Zhiyao provides its self-developed automated protein design platform (ADPSE) and core technologies. Together, they will build a "dry-wet closed-loop" R&D platform featuring "AI design - high-throughput experimental validation - data feedback iteration", enhancing the value of SihuanPharm's medical aesthetics business in two aspects:
1. Breakthrough in raw material bottlenecks to upgrade medical aesthetics business
Leveraging Shenyuan Zhiyao proprietary protein design platform and codon optimization technology (NatCodon), address the design, optimization, and expression challenges of key injectable medical aesthetics raw materials such as recombinant collagen, silk protein, and spider silk protein, reducing reliance on imported high-end materials, promoting the group's medical aesthetics products toward high-end and domestic production, and strengthening market share and brand influence.
2. Cost reduction and efficiency enhancement to accelerate R&D in aesthetic medicine.
Leveraging deep generative models and large language models, combined with high-throughput experimental validation systems, to shorten the early-stage molecular screening cycle in aesthetic medicine, reduce development costs of candidate ingredients and products, improve R&D success rates, and strengthen SihuanPharm's competitive advantage in advancing its innovation pipeline in aesthetic medicine.
SihuanPharm will take the AI R&D company established through this collaboration as its core to continuously deepen its AI planning in the medical aesthetics R&D field, focusing on the development of globally innovative raw materials and products for medical aesthetics.
