On May 6, GSK released its Q1 2024 financial report, which showed: total revenue of £7.4 billion, including COVID-19 solutions growth of 10%, excluding COVID-19 solutions growth of 13%.
By region, the three major sectors have made equal progress, achieving a strong start in 2024. The vaccine sector sold £2.3 billion, including a 16% increase with the COVID-19 solution and a 22% increase without it; the specialty medicines sector sold £2.5 billion, including a 17% increase with the COVID-19 solution and a 19% increase without it, with a 14% increase including HIV; the general medicines sector sold £2.6 billion, with a 1% increase.
Moreover, the core operating profit reached £2.4 billion, with a 27% increase including the COVID-19 solution and a 35% increase excluding it; total earnings per share were 25.7 pence, down 19%; core earnings per share were 43.1 pence, with a 28% increase including the COVID-19 solution and a 37% increase excluding it; dividend was 15 pence.
GSK also disclosed in its financial report that there are currently 72 vaccines and drugs under development, with four of them showing positive Phase III data.
