Developer of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Devices for Arrhythmia
Recently, Biosense Webster, Inc., a global leader in the field of arrhythmia treatment and a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson Medical Technologies, announced the launch of CARTO. ™System Version 8, the latest version of the company's leading three-dimensional (3D) cardiac mapping system for cardiac ablation procedures. The software includes new modules, such as the CARTO ELEVATE™ module and the CARTOSOUND™ FAM module, designed to enhance the efficiency, repeatability, and accuracy for electrophysiologists performing catheter ablation to treat atrial fibrillation (AFib) and other arrhythmias.

Jasmina Brooks, President of Biosense Webster, Inc., said: "We are delighted to launch the new version of CARTO.™CARTO™ 3 System: This reflects our continued commitment to leveraging the latest scientific technology to improve the treatment of arrhythmias by electrophysiologists. For more than a decade, the CARTO™ 3 System has been the cornerstone of catheter ablation procedures, assisting electrophysiologists in making treatment decisions. This new version enhances cardiac mapping.Signal analysis, improved matrix characterization, and the use of ultrasound technology.
New CARTO™System Version 3, 8 Modules Include:

CARTOSOUND™ FAM: The first use of an artificial intelligence algorithm, which has received FDA approval for Biosense Webster's intracardiac ultrasound. The algorithm can automatically generate the anatomy of the left atrium before inserting the catheter into the left atrium, saving time while also providing highly accurate maps.

CARTO ELEVATE™: Includes multiple new features designed to meet the needs of electrophysiologists:
Multi-polar, with OPTRELL™ mapping catheter,Used for locating unipolar signals, significantly reducing far-field potentials and providing more accurate activation maps;
Complex Signal Recognition,Can effectively and reproducibly identify key regions of interest during the diagnosis of arrhythmias;
Mode AcquisitionCan automatically track the arrhythmia burden before and after ablation, thereby enabling more informed decisions regarding related premature activation maps; and
Enhanced CONFIDENSE™ ModuleOptimized maps with higher overall intelligence index scores can be created to ensure continuous map improvement.
“CARTO ™The 8th version of the system adopts a novel component, the CARTOSOUND™ FAM module, which utilizes artificial intelligence for the first time to reconstruct the anatomy of the left atrium, streamlining the process for electrophysiologists.By eliminating the need for manual contouring, the new system represents a novel approach to anatomical structure creation, enhancing the efficiency of surgical workflows.The accuracy and precision of mapping the heart when treating arrhythmias are crucial for electrophysiologists as well as for our patients.CARTO ELEVATE™ Module Raises the Standard for Electroanatomical Mapping Systems Used in Catheter Ablation Procedures. Features such as multipolar mapping bring changes to electrophysiologists in electrophysiology labs, helping to reduce far-field signals and enhance focus on electrophysiology. Signals within the patient’s heart can lead to arrhythmias.
AFib is the most common type of arrhythmia, affectingUnited StatesMore than 8 million people in China and nearly 50 million people worldwide.When medications cannot help restore the heart's incorrect electrical signals that cause arrhythmias, catheter ablation is a safe and effective procedure.
About CARTO™ System Version 8
CARTO ™The CARTO 3 system is a three-dimensional mapping system that uses electromagnetic technology to generate real-time images of a patient's cardiac structure. First introduced in 2009, the system is designed to assist electrophysiologists in navigating the heart by creating 3D maps and identifying the precise location and orientation of catheters within the heart during the diagnosis and treatment of patients with arrhythmias.™3 System Version 8 includes the CARTO ELEVATE™ module, which features the OPTRELL™ mapping catheter with multipolar capabilities to enhance signal quality and local annotation, regardless of catheter orientation. The system also incorporates the CARTOSOUND™ FAM module, enabling automated 3D shell creation using deep learning technology.
