Macrophage Immunotherapy Drug Developer
Recently, Nanjing Yuanmai Cell Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yuanmai Cell") and INNORNA (hereinafter referred to as "INNORNA") officially signed a cooperation agreement. Yuanmai Cell will adopt INNORNA's innovative mRNA-LNP technology, combined with its deep understanding of immune cell therapy, to develop in vivo editing myeloid cell immunotherapy technology based on mRNA-LNP (referred to as: CAR-M). The aim is to overcome the bottlenecks existing in the clinical application of current cell therapy drugs, such as long preparation cycles, high costs, difficulties in generalization, and poor clinical accessibility. The concept of CAR-M in vivo self-assembly based on mRNA can achieve biological reengineering and engineering empowerment of myeloid cells, which is expected to enhance efficacy and clinical accessibility while reducing toxicity. This promotes technological iteration in immune cell therapy and further addresses unmet clinical needs.
Founded in September 2022, Yuanmai Cell focuses on the research and development of myeloid cell immunotherapy drugs and novel immunotherapy systems based on this. Targeting the treatment areas of solid tumors and autoimmune diseases with unmet clinical needs, Yuanmai Cell is committed to the innovative CAR-M technology research and development. Currently, Yuanmai Cell possesses an advanced IEK (Integrated & Enhanced Killing) technology platform, including "integrating and non-integrating" molecular editing and manipulation systems, new vectors, and cell production platforms, which can engineer live cells through intelligent functional regulation and other steps, enabling CAR-M to accurately identify target antigens and exert therapeutic effects. Yuanmai Cell has laid out multiple CAR-M cell product R&D pipelines.
INNORNA, founded in November 2019, is committed to developing a world-leading LNP delivery technology platform and innovative RNA therapies to address unmet clinical needs. INNORNA has built a Diversity-Oriented LNP Library (DOLL) containing more than 5,000 ionizable lipids, which can be applied to the development of various innovative therapies, including mRNA vaccines and drugs, in vivo gene-editing therapies, and in vivo cell therapies. Based on its proprietary mRNA and LNP technology platforms, INNORNA has established multiple internal R&D pipelines in areas such as infectious disease vaccines, rare diseases, and tumor immunology, while also forming collaborations with several biopharmaceutical companies both in China and internationally.
