According to the Financial Times, people familiar with the matter revealed that Pfizer Inc. has agreed to pay up to $250 million to resolve over 10,000 U.S. lawsuits linking cancer risks to Zantac, a discontinued heartburn drug. The settlement was disclosed last week in a court filing in Delaware. Two individuals familiar with the deal stated that the New York-based pharmaceutical company originally planned to pay plaintiffs between $200 million and $250 million to settle these cases.
