Swiss pharmaceutical company Numab Therapeutics announced on Tuesday,Johnson & Johnson(JNJ.US) has agreed to acquire its subsidiary Yellow Jersey Therapeutics for $1.25 billion in cash, including the eczema candidate drug NM26.
This bispecific antibody is currently entering Phase 2 clinical development for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (commonly known as eczema).
According to the agreement, Johnson & Johnson will obtain the rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize NM26 for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and other targeted conditions. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024.
Numab CEO David Urech said, "We are delighted to reach this agreement with Johnson & Johnson and believe they can rapidly advance the development of NM26, providing better treatments for patients in need of improved therapies for atopic dermatitis and other conditions."
