China, Wenzhou -- VIVAVISION, an innovative ophthalmic drug research and development company based in China, announced that its self-developedInnovative Drug for Dry Eye Treatment -- The China Phase III Clinical Trial of VVN001 Eye Drops, a New Generation LFA-1 Antagonist, Has Recently Successfully Completed the Enrollment and Dosing of the First Subject。
This clinical study is a randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled, multi-center Phase III clinical trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of VVN001 eye drops in Chinese patients with dry eye disease. Professor Xinghu Sun from the Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital of Fudan University serves as the Principal Investigator (PI), and Professor Wei Chen from the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University serves as the Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI). Currently, nearly 20 centers across China have been initiated, and the clinical study will be conducted across 43 hospitals in China.

About VVN001
VVN001 is a new generation of LFA-1 antagonist independently developed by VIVAVISION. It can efficiently block the binding of LFA-1 to its ligand ICAM-1, effectively control ocular inflammatory responses, and alleviate dry eye symptoms. Existing clinical data show that LFA-1 antagonists have the advantages of weak stimulation, rapid onset, and good efficacy.。

Dry eye is a multifactorial chronic ocular surface disease caused by abnormalities in the quality, quantity, and dynamics of tears, leading to tear film instability or imbalance of the ocular surface microenvironment.
