Novo Nordisk announced on Monday that it would invest $4.1 billion to build a new production facility in Clayton, North Carolina, to increase the supply of its blockbuster weight-loss drug Wegovy, diabetes treatment Ozempic, and other injectable medications. Last year, shortages of Wegovy and Ozempic intermittently hit the U.S. market due to overwhelming demand, prompting the Danish pharmaceutical company to heavily invest in expanding production capacity. The company stated that it plans to invest $6.8 billion in production this year, up from approximately $4 billion last year. According to the company’s announcement, the new plant will be responsible for filling and packaging drug injectors and injection pens. (Sina Finance)Original Link
