Pfizer Advances Three Novel Weight-Loss Drug Candidates, Including Non-GLP-1 Mechanism

Gelonghui June 25 | Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla stated that Pfizer is testing three new weight-loss drugs. Two of them utilize the same scientific and technological approach as GLP-1, while the other does not rely on the GLP-1 pharmacological mechanism. Pfizer plans to release data on the progress of its research on (the weight-loss drug) Danuglipron later in 2024. As more companies enter the weight-loss drug market, prices for drugs like Ozempic (developed by Novo Nordisk) are expected to decline.
