Novo Nordisk's Semaglutide Injection (Wegovy) Approved in China for Chronic Weight Management with Average 17% Body Weight Reduction

Recently, the National Medical Products Administration approved the listing application in China for Novo Nordisk's developed and produced Wegovy (semaglutide injection for long-term weight management). Novo Nordisk stated that this is the world’s first and currently the only glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist weekly formulation for long-term weight management. It is reported that Wegovy is suitable for long-term weight management in adult patients based on controlled diet and increased physical activity, achieving an average weight loss of 17% (16.8kg).
