The agreements involve IASO Bio purchasing the collaborative product FocuS from Innovent Bio.®The revenue rights and intellectual property licensing, as well as Innovent Bio's investment in IASO Bio and related aspects.
According to the terms of the agreement, IASO Bio will purchase the relevant rights owned by Innovent Bio under the original BCMA CAR-T cooperation agreement at the agreed price; meanwhile, Innovent Bio will invest in IASO Bio at the same price, holding 18% of IASO Bio’s shares after the investment. Under the new strategic cooperation framework, both parties will achieve a high level of resource integration in the field of cellular immunotherapy. IASO Bio will obtain Focoso.®(Idecabtagene Vicleucel Injection) global market commercialization rights and intellectual property licensing, among other rights, and independently handle and make decisions regarding the product's development, production, and sales; meanwhile, Innovent Bio becomes a strategic shareholder of IASO Bio.
Focasu developed by Innovent Bio in collaboration with IASO Bio®(Idecabtagene Vicleucel Injection) was officially approved for marketing by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on June 30, 2023. It is the world's first commercially available fully human CAR-T product, China's first self-developed and fully self-manufactured CAR-T cell therapy, the first domestically approved BCMA-targeted CAR-T product in China, and the first cell therapy product approved in China for the treatment of multiple myeloma. On March 28, 2024, its Investigational New Drug (IND) application was again approved, intending to expand its indications to treat patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma who have previously undergone 1-2 lines of therapy and are lenalidomide-resistant. In 2024, its IND applications for treating refractory generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) and other autoimmune diseases were also approved in both China and the United States.
