Huahai Pharmaceutical's Subsidiaries Receive IND Approval for HB0046 Injection, a First-in-Class CD39/CD73 Bispecific Antibody for Advanced Solid Tumors

Huahai Pharmaceutical (600521.SH) announced that its subsidiaries, Shanghai Huaota Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ("Huaota") and Huabo Biomedical Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ("Huabo Biotech"), have received the "Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice" for HB0046 Injection issued by the National Medical Products Administration.

It is reported that HB0046 is a bispecific antibody independently developed by Huaota based on its hybridoma and nanobody screening platform. It is composed of a VHH (variable heavy chain) fragment against CD39 and a monoclonal antibody against CD73. This bispecific antibody exhibits high affinity for both CD39 and CD73 and can effectively inhibit the enzymatic activities of both membrane-bound and soluble CD39 and CD73. It demonstrates significant synergistic effects in inhibiting the enzymatic activities of CD39 and CD73 as well as ATP (adenosine triphosphate)-mediated T-cell proliferation suppression.
