China's Innovative Glaucoma Medical Device Company — HSGD (HSGD Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd., Suzhou, hereinafter referred to as "HSGD") has recently completed a new round of financing. This round was led by Guohai Innovation Capital, with participation from the Suzhou Industrial Park Science and Technology Innovation Fund. The funds will primarily be used to advance the scaled production and commercialization of the company’s glaucoma intraocular pressure monitoring product, Haisiwei®. HSGD is progressively evolving into a full-scenario solution provider centered around glaucoma patients, integrating preoperative screening, intraoperative treatment, and postoperative intraocular pressure management.
Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) has rapidly developed in recent years and has become a new trend in glaucoma treatment options due to its excellent safety, efficacy, good compliance, and prognosis. Especially internationally, it has been widely applied as an emerging method for glaucoma treatment, bringing new hope for long-term intraocular pressure control for glaucoma patients worldwide. HSGD, established in September 2020, has grown into a leading enterprise in the MIGS field and currently boasts the most comprehensive MIGS product pipeline globally. Among its products, the "MicroCOGO® Trabecular Micro-Stent Drainage System" is the world’s smallest Class III implant, breaking foreign technological monopolies and filling the gap in this category of products in China. It entered the National Medical Device Innovation “Green Channel” in February 2024. Currently, the product has completed over a hundred surgical cases across China, with current data showing excellent efficacy and safety.
