On the evening of August 4,Huadong Medicine Announces Another Licensing Collaboration, AcquiringYimiao ShenzhouIM19 Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Injection, an autologous CAR-T candidate product targeting CD19（Hereinafter referred to as "IM19 Injection") The exclusive commercial rights in mainland China, this cooperation has a total amount of 1.075 billion RMB.
In fact, external cooperation has become one of the important methods of Huadong Medicine's commercialization strategy.According to the Insight database, since 2015,Huadong Medicine has reached more than 30 licensing collaborations with enterprises both in China and overseas. CollaborationIM19 Injection is a CAR-T cell therapy product targeting CD19., is currently conducting clinical research in China for the treatment of three indications: diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, and acute B lymphoblastic leukemia. Among them, the Phase II clinical trial for the use of this drug in end-stage treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is expected to be completed in 2024.
Through this cooperation,Huadong Medicine to Obtain Exclusive Commercial Rights for IM19 Injection in China。Yimiao Shenzhou will continue to be responsible for the development, registration, and production of the drug in mainland China.According to the terms of the agreement, Beijing Yimiaoshenzhou Medical Techology Co., Ltd. will receive an upfront payment of 125 million RMB and is eligible to receive up to 950 million RMB in registration and sales milestone payments.
IM19 Injection is the second CAR-T product introduced by Huadong Medicine.Prior to this, Huadong Medicine had reached a cooperation with CARsgen Therapeutics in January 2023, obtaining the latter's BCMA CAR-T cell product.Zevorcleucel InjectionThe exclusive commercial rights in mainland China. The total amount of this cooperation is 12.25.100 million RMB, where the down payment is 200 million RMB.
Huadong Medicine and Quanxin Bio
On July 21, Huadong Medicine's wholly-owned subsidiary, Sinopharm-Zhongmei Huadong, and Quanxin Bio announced that they had signed a cooperation development and marketing service agreement for the latter's self-developed QX005N injection.QX005N is a recombinant humanized IL-4Rα monoclonal antibody that has obtained 7 IND approvals for the treatment of adult patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis, prurigo nodularis, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, and other indications., and was included in the breakthrough therapy list by the CDE on January 31 this year. Currently, QX005N injection for the treatment of adult patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis and prurigo nodularis has entered the phase III clinical trial stage.
Through this collaboration, Huadong Medicine will deeply participate in the QX005N Injection in the authorized region (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions) and will bear 50% of the Phase III clinical development and subsequent registration costs for the relevant indications. At the same time, Huadong Medicine will obtain the exclusive marketing option for QX005N Injection in the licensed region. If the option is exercised, Huadong Medicine will be responsible for the commercial market promotion of QX005N in the licensed region.
According to the agreement, after the authorized product achieves the corresponding registration milestones, Huadong Medicine will pay the registration milestone payments to Quanxin Biotech.Total milestone payments for registration amount to 115 million yuan, wherein the total amount of registration milestones for the adult atopic dermatitis indication is 70 million yuan, and the total amount of registration milestones for the prurigo nodularis indication is 45 million yuan.

On July 12, Huadong Medicine and Auzone Biological Technology announced regarding the latter'sEdaravone Oral Formulation TTYP01 Tablet (Edaravone Tablets）All indications in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan (Hereinafter referred to as the "Licensed Territory") Development, registration, production, and commercialization exclusive strategic cooperation agreement reached.
TTYP01 is an improved new drug independently developed by Suzhou Auzone Biological Technology Co., Ltd. It is an oral tablet formulation of edaravone.Its acute ischemic stroke indication has completed Phase III clinical trials in China, with an expected NDA submission in Q4 2024.Edaravone, as an antioxidant stress neuroprotectant, inhibits oxidative damage to brain cells, vascular endothelial cells, and nerve cells by scavenging free radicals and suppressing lipid peroxidation. TTYP01 Tablets developed by Suzhou Auzone Biological Technology Co., Ltd., an oral formulation of edaravone, offer improved patient compliance and convenience. It can cover both the acute phase and rehabilitation phase for stroke patients, and is expected to bring more clinical benefits to a wide range of stroke patients.
Through this cooperation,Huadong Medicine will be responsible for the development, registration, production, and commercialization of TTYP01 tablets for all indications in the licensed region.Suzhou Auzone Biological Technology Co., Ltd. will continue to be responsible for the development and commercialization of TTYP01 tablets in other regions.According to the terms of the agreement, Auzone Bio will receive an upfront payment of 100 million RMB, development, registration, and sales milestone payments of up to 1.185 billion RMB, and tiered royalties of up to double-digit percentages of net sales.
