Small Molecule Innovative Drug Developer
Recently, CGeneTech announced the first close of its over CNY 100 million Series C financing round. This round of investment was led by Tongren Boda, and the funds raised will be used for the commercial production and sales of the company's upcoming Class 1 innovative drug product, Sengliptin (formerly known as Shengliptin), as well as the clinical development of its subsequent innovative product pipeline.

CGeneTech is a biotechnology company at the commercialization stage. Its core team has decades of international experience in the entire lifecycle of pharmaceuticals, focusing on the research and industrialization of high-quality and differentiated small molecule innovative drugs. With an integrated drug development technology platform and diversified business perspectives, the company has established a rich pipeline of innovative drugs covering areas such as hypoglycemic, anti-cancer, and autoimmune diseases.
Currently, Shengshi Taike's independently developed next-generation highly selective DPP-4 inhibitor, Cenglitin, is about to be approved for marketing. Clinical results show that compared with similar drugs already on the market, its "double efficacy with half the dose" treatment effect is expected to become the best-in-class hypoglycemic drug; more notably, its safety further addresses common adverse reactions found in currently marketed products.
The successful development of Seng列汀 validates the innovation and feasibility of the company's R&D platform. Relying on this platform, the company has also developed multiple anti-tumor drugs that have entered the clinical stage. Among them, CGT-1881, a CXCR4 antagonist for hematopoietic stem cell mobilization, is the only original small-molecule oral CXCR4 antagonist produced in China; CGT-6321, an FGFR/VEGFR dual-target inhibitor, is expected to become a potential first-in-class drug in the field of solid tumor treatment. Two of these drugs have received clinical trial approval from the U.S. FDA, and this round of financing will also accelerate the company's innovative steps in going global.
In the current environment of the biopharmaceutical industry, CGeneTech has successfully raised over 100 million yuan in financing against market trends, demonstrating investors' high recognition of the company's innovation and industrialization capabilities. You Ronghui, partner of Tongren Boda, the investor of this round, stated: "With the aging population structure in China and the improvement of economic levels, we are very optimistic about the development prospects in fields such as metabolism and anti-tumor treatments. Especially in the hypoglycemic drug market, as the region with the most diabetes patients, there is a strong demand in China for innovative drugs with better efficacy and safety. At this critical moment when the company’s core product is about to enter the market, we believe this round of financing will help the company smoothly embark on its commercialization journey and accelerate the rapid progress of other innovative products, paving the way for a new chapter in the company’s growth."
