Brisight Nord Secures China's First Approval for High-Speed Vitrectomy Probe

Latest news on September 2nd, the 【Disposable Vitrectomy Head】 submitted by Wuxi Brisight Nord Medical Technology Co., Ltd. has received the approval of the third-class medical device from the National Medical Products Administration, with the registration number being GuoXieZhuZhun 20243161676. The first high-speed vitrectomy head produced in China was thus born.

It is reported that the disposable vitrectomy cutter approved this time by Brisight Nord adopts a dual-airway drive design, with specifications including 23G, 25G, and 27G, and cutting speeds covering 2500, 5000, 7500, and 10000 CPM. It is compatible with major brands of vitrectomy machines. This is the first dual-airway vitrectomy cutter in China, and the second globally, with a base cutting speed as high as 10000 CPM. This marks the end of China's vitreous surgery medical device market's long-term heavy reliance on imports, where imported medical devices accounted for 100% and no domestically produced medical devices were available. The path to domestic production has officially begun.

The difficulty coefficient of vitrectomy is high, and it belongs to the highest level of ophthalmic surgery, which is a Level IV surgery.
