On August 28, the Shanghai Municipal Medical Products Administration issued the "Shanghai Regulations on the Supervision and Management of Autologous Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell (CAR-T)" (hereinafter referred to as the "CAR-T Management Regulations"). It is reported that the original interim regulations will expire on August 31, 2024. The validity period of the "CAR-T Management Regulations" has also been amended from "2 years" to "5 years," and will be implemented starting from September 1, 2024, ensuring seamless continuity with the original document.
Shanghai Municipal Medical Products Administration revealed that the revision of the "CAR-T Management Regulations" mainly takes into account that the cell therapy pharmaceuticals industry has become an important "new track," and Shanghai is one of the most dynamic cell and gene therapy industry clusters in China.
