This marks the world’s first registration of an amblyopia treatment method proven superior to the current gold standard. It has effectively shattered the traditional belief that "amblyopia in older individuals is untreatable," expanding the clinical treatment age for amblyopia from 12 years old to 55 years old.

Focusight collaborates with the top academic team from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in brain cognition to complete the transformation of research findings related to the mechanisms of eye diseases. The first enrolled patient (Subject 001) at the Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital affiliated with Fudan University finished watching the entire series of "Empresses in the Palace" during the four-week clinical trial period, with their best-corrected visual acuity improving directly from 0.2 to 0.8 (the clinical cure standard).

In fact, an IIT study conducted in 2022 at the Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital of Fudan University has confirmed the effectiveness of this solution in treating amblyopia in older patients. The trial results showed that the clinical effective rate for patients with an average age of 28 reached as high as 77.3% after six months (with an average improvement of three lines). This not only fills the gap where traditional methods are ineffective for this age group but even surpasses the efficacy data of the traditional gold-standard occlusion therapy in children (below 62%, with an average improvement of 1.8 lines). Moreover, some patients achieved a cure after a short period of treatment, and patient compliance was over 97%.
