Multiple myeloma is a complex and heterogeneous disease characterized by the presence of multiple myeloma plasma cells (MMPCs), which independently and highly express BCMA and GPRC5D antigens.Traditional single-target CAR-T therapies (such as BCMA-targeted CAR-T) have shown promising clinical outcomes, but the duration of treatment response is often limited due to antigen downregulation, loss, or shedding, leading to disease relapse. To overcome this limitation of the single-target CAR-T therapy, Qrigincell Therapeutics has introduced the BCMAxGPRC5D dual-target CAR-T therapy, which, together with OriCAR-017 in the clinical stage, demonstrates the company's comprehensive and in-depth development strategy in the field of multiple myeloma treatment.
This dual-target product integrates multiple highly sensitive and highly specific humanized antibody binding domains, targeting BCMA and GPRC5D antigens respectively, and incorporates the company's self-developed Ori technology, aiming to significantly enhance the anti-tumor activity of T cells. At this conference, Qrigincell Therapeutics reported preclinical research data on its BCMAxGPRC5D CAR-T therapy, with key highlights including:
Significantly enhanced anti-tumor activity, outperforming single-antigen CAR-T therapy in preclinical models, effectively eliminating various myeloma cells.
Enable CAR-T cells to better expand and persist under the pressure of high tumor burden.
Effectively addresses the issue of antigen loss, maintaining killing activity against tumor cells with any tumor antigen escape, overcoming the limitations of single-antigen therapy.
Preclinical studies also showed good tolerability.
Dr. He Xiaowen, Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Qrigincell Therapeutics, stated: "The dual-target strategy has enabled us to create a more stable candidate product that is less susceptible to antigen escape, covering a large target population of patients with multiple myeloma, and is expected to provide new treatment hope for these patients. We are very much looking forward to advancing clinical validation as soon as possible."

"We are very excited that the BCMAxGPRC5D CAR-T therapy can enrich and expand the treatment options for multiple myeloma," said Yang Huanfeng, co-founder and CEO of Oricell Therapeutics Holdings Limited. "With its ability to address tumor heterogeneity and effectively prevent disease recurrence, we believe that BCMAxGPRC5D CAR-T therapy has the potential to become a new treatment option for patients with this refractory disease at all stages, adding significant value to the field of MM treatment."
