Rockville, Maryland, USA, November 16, 2024 -- Cellular Biomedicine Group (referred to as "Cellular Biomedicine" or "the Company"), a global biopharmaceutical company at the clinical stage focused on the discovery and development of innovative cell therapies, announced itsPreclinical Data of C-CAR168 StudyHeld from November 14 to 19, 2024, in Washington, D.C.American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual MeetingPublished in the form of a special report. C-CAR168 is a novel bispecific autologous CAR-T therapy targeting CD20 and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), aimed at treating patients with lupus nephritis and systemic lupus erythematosus who are unresponsive to conventional treatments. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Investigational New Drug (IND) application for C-CAR168 in May 2024.

Key Research Highlights
Cellular Biomedicine GroupComprehensive preclinical studies have been conducted on the biological characteristics of C-CAR168. Preclinical experiments show that C-CAR168 can be specifically activated by CD20 and/or BCMA targets on the cell surface, effectively killing CD20 and/or BCMA positive target cells, and can eliminate the significantly expanded ABC cell subpopulation in autoimmune diseases.
In immunodeficient mouse models, C-CAR168 demonstrated excellent in vivo activity, successfully inhibiting the growth of CD20 and BCMA single-positive or double-positive target cells.
Comprehensive analysis, including whole-genome membrane protein array, confirmed that C-CAR168 specifically targets CD20 and BCMA proteins, with no significant binding to non-target cells.
In vitro studies show that the therapy has low genotoxicity andGood Safety。
"C-CAR168's progress is encouraging. We believe this drug has the potential to offer an excellent treatment option for patients with various refractory autoimmune diseases who are severely affected clinically and have a poor prognosis."CEO of Cellular Biomedicine Group (Shanghai) Ltd, Liu Bizuo"This progress marks another important step forward in our efforts to provide potential best-in-class and/or disease-best innovative cell therapies for cancer, inflammation, and immune diseases."
Dr. Yao Yihong, Chief Scientific Officer of Cellular Biomedicine Group (Shanghai) Ltd"We are very excited about the potential of C-CAR168. Research has shown that CD20 is a highly effective target that can deplete B cells and treat relapsed/refractory non-Hodgkin lymphoma (r/r NHL). Other approved therapies also confirm the promising future of CD20 in treating autoimmune diseases. Our CAR-T therapies targeting CD20 and BCMA have been proven safe and effective in non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma, respectively. The design goal of C-CAR168 is to recognize and kill B cells, plasmablasts, and long-lived plasma cells to eliminate the source of autoantibodies, thereby providing a fundamental treatment for various severe autoimmune diseases (including lupus nephritis and systemic lupus erythematosus) that are currently unresponsive to existing therapies."
