Recently, Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University has collaborated with NEUREGEN to carry out "NRG-103Clinical Research on the Safety and Efficacy of Injection for Recurrent Glioblastoma Patients" Project Launch Held Successfully at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University

Professor Jinchao Chen, Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, stated in his speech at the launch meeting that although traditional methods such as surgical resection and radiochemotherapy have achieved certain efficacy in treating gliomas, there is still a gap between these outcomes and the expectations of both medical teams and patients. At the launch meeting, the principal investigator Professor Li ZhiqiangNRG-103The experimental background, research objectives, and program design of the project were comprehensively elaborated. He introduced that glioblastoma is a malignant tumor with an extremely high mortality rate that cannot be cured under existing conditions, and its clinical progress has been extremely slow over recent decades.NRG-103Focusing on the pain point of glioblastoma's tendency to recur, a novel anti-tumor combination strategy was adopted aimed at delaying recurrence and improving survival for patients with glioblastoma. This study isNRG-103The first human trial of the injection will be conducted inNRG-103Preliminary Exploration of the Safety and Efficacy of Injection Treatment in Patients with Recurrent Glioblastoma.

Professor Huang Jianying, Director of the Clinical Trial Center at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, has provided comprehensive guidance and oversight for the project from its inception, ensuring support and assurance for the compliant and orderly advancement of the project. At the launch meeting, Professor Huang and the Clinical Trial Center team set clear requirements and offered valuable opinions on compliance management and security safeguards for the project, while also providing detailed explanations of the management requirements. Subsequently, the team staff explained aspects such as the investigational drug, sample management, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), informed consent, and safety information. Participants engaged in lively discussions regarding key points of the protocol and practical operational challenges.

NRG-103 is a globally leading innovative gene therapy drug for central nervous system tumors developed by NEUREGEN based on its proprietary in-situ transdifferentiation technology platform. It aims to control tumor recurrence by transforming residual or escaped tumor cells into non-tumor cells that no longer divide and proliferate through multiple synergistic mechanisms, building on the foundation of immune killing.
