GEMMABio Announces Completion of $34 Million Seed Financing Round to Advance Gene Therapy Programs

GEMMABio, led by gene therapy pioneer Dr. Jim Wilson and his team of experts, focuses on delivering life-changing advanced therapies for patients with rare diseases. In October 2024, the company also entered into a collaboration with Fiocruz Foundation, a public health research institution under Brazil's Ministry of Health, which will provide up to $100 million in funding to support clinical research and production.

ViGeneron Completes A+ Round Financing Led by Huagai Capital. The funds will mainly be used to advance the clinical development of two ophthalmic gene therapy drugs developed by the company.

ViGeneron is an innovative gene therapy company with two products already in clinical trial stages. VG901, one of the products, is a gene replacement therapy that delivers the CNGA1 gene via intravitreal injection (IVT) to reduce the risk of retinal damage. Another mRNA trans-splicing recombinant gene therapy, VG801, has also received FDA approval to enter clinical trials.
