Recently, FineVision, the parent company of Feiguang Vision Technology (Nanjing) Co., Ltd.—the enterprise responsible for the "Femtosecond Laser Corneal Refractive Surgery Device" project under China's National Key R&D Program—has completed an over 100-million-yuan Series A round of financing. This round was led by Lilly Asia Ventures, with Kaitai Venture Capital participating, and existing shareholders Nanjing Innovation Investment Group and Dingxin Capital continuing to increase their investments. The funds raised will be used to advance the clinical trials and registration submissions for the "Femtosecond Laser Corneal Refractive Surgery Device," expediting the product’s market entry and commercialization process.
FineVision, established in 2022, originates its core technology from the research achievements of Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The company was co-founded by Professor Shaoqun Zeng, a life optoelectronics scientist from the center, serial entrepreneur Feng Cao, and seasoned ophthalmology experts. Focusing on the development of high-end ophthalmic surgical equipment, FineVision strategically positions itself in femtosecond refractive correction surgery devices and excimer laser systems, aspiring to become a game-changer in China's femtosecond laser corneal refractive surgery equipment industry.
The lead investor of this round, Lilly Asia Ventures, empowers the company in various aspects such as clinical and research resources, accelerating the advancement of core products from the preclinical to the clinical trial stage. Nanjing Innovation Investment Group has coordinated multiple resources for FineVision, including bank partnerships and carrier expansion; Kaitai Venture Capital has assisted in the expansion of the Wuhan office and the application for local policy support funds in Wuhan; Dingxin Capital, as the lead investor of the angel round, made a significant investment of tens of millions of yuan at the angel stage and has continuously supported FineVision’s project financing, talent acquisition, and team building. In this round of financing, both new and existing shareholders have actively empowered the project. Along with the funding from China's National Key R&D Program, FineVision is provided with strong support to overcome technical challenges, successfully pass clinical trial validation, and achieve large-scale production and manufacturing, as well as domestic and international application promotion.
