Recently, Chimigen Bio (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Chimigen Bio") announced the completion of its Pre-A round of financing. It is reported that this round of financing was jointly invested by CAS Star and SDIC Venture Capital, with the specific amount not disclosed.

Chimigen Bio, established in 2021, owns the proprietary SynNeogen® immunotherapy technology platform. Focused on the two major disease areas of chronic infectious diseases and malignant tumors, Chimigen Bio is committed to transforming unique scientific insights into the SynNeogen® technology into effective therapies to overcome immune tolerance, offering more treatment options for patients afflicted by these conditions.

Vaccines can "restart" the immune system because they can re-identify virus-derived antigens, Tumor Associate Antigen (TAA), and Tumor Specific Antigen (TSA) that are immunologically isolated/ignored in patients with infectious diseases or tumors, thereby generating a strong immune response against cells expressing the target antigen.

In this regard, the SynNeogen® vaccine is able to break the immune system's tolerance to viral antigens and TAA/TSA, eliminating the challenge faced by neoantigen therapies that generally require antigen prediction based on mutation analysis. Instead, antigens that have already been tolerated are transformed into "neoantigens" through the "molecular adjuvant" technology of SynNeogen®, thereby activating humoral and cellular immune responses to help eradicate viral infections or introduce specific immunotherapy to suppress tumors.

Relying on the SynNeogen therapeutic vaccine technology platform, Chimigen Bio has developed several blockbuster product pipelines. Among them, SN3001 (prostate therapeutic vaccine) and SN2001 (chronic hepatitis B therapeutic vaccine) have entered the Pre-IND stage and are expected to enter clinical research phases successively in 2025.

As the investors in this round of financing, both CAS Star and SDIC Venture Capital expressed optimism about Chimigen Bio's technology platform and future development potential, believing that it has the potential to become a leading enterprise in the biopharmaceutical field.
