On February 18, Perceive Pharma announced the completion of a $15 million Series A financing round. Perceive Pharma is a spin-off from Perceive Bio, dedicated to developing novel small-molecule neuroprotective therapies, with a research focus on the treatment of glaucoma and other ophthalmic diseases.
The proceeds from this financing will help Perceive Pharma further advance the development of its innovative therapies, such as moving the primary therapeutic candidate PBI-671 into clinical research, bringing new hope for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases.
On January 20, Shenzhen Ruitong BioPharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ("Ruitong Bio") announced the completion of an angel round of financing worth tens of millions of yuan. The funds from this round will be used to advance the company’s core pipeline into clinical trials and to accelerate the technical development and pipeline expansion of the iSus® sustained-release platform.
According to reports, RuiTong Bio focuses on the research and development of ophthalmic new drugs and high-end medical devices, with a core focus on biodegradable long-acting sustained-release technology for the eye. It aims to address the pain point of frequent dosing associated with traditional eye drop formulations. Currently, its core platform technology, iSus®, enables single-dose sustained drug release lasting from several days to months on the ocular surface and in the posterior segment of the eye, significantly improving patient compliance and treatment outcomes.
January 17, iView Therapeutics announced the completion of its A++ round of financing, led by Chongqing Changsheng Shenghe Investment Fund. The proceeds will be used to advance the clinical trials and registration of the company’s R&D pipeline projects. Primarily, it will support the clinical research of IVW-1001, a first-in-class innovative chemical drug targeting dry eye disease developed by the company.
Currently, the IVW-1001 project has completed treatment for all patients in the Phase 1/2 clinical study for dry eye disease at 10 clinical centers in the United States. Top-line data is expected to be released in Q1 2025. After evaluating the clinical data, a meeting with the FDA will be held to determine the next pivotal clinical study.
