On May 6, Pony.ai and Uber announced a strategic partnership. Pony.ai's Robotaxi service and fleet will be integrated into the Uber platform in the second half of this year, jointly accelerating the commercial implementation of autonomous driving technology. The collaboration will first launch in the Middle Eastern market this year, with plans to gradually expand to more international markets in the future. After the service goes live, passengers using the Uber App to book rides will have the option to choose Pony.ai’s Robotaxi vehicles for their trips.
This collaboration marks an important step in Pony.ai's "Rooted in China, Looking at the Global" strategy, leveraging its mature L4 autonomous driving technology ecosystem to demonstrate strong commercialization capabilities in the global autonomous mobility market. According to reports, Pony.ai’s seventh-generation automotive-grade autonomous driving system solution, unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, achieved 100% automotive-grade mass production for Robotaxis, making breakthroughs in scalability and cost efficiency. This technological iteration aligns closely with the goals of the strategic cooperation between both parties. As the partnership expands into more markets in the future, Uber's platform will safely and efficiently integrate Pony.ai's autonomous driving capacity.
Recently, the ophthalmic OCT series independently developed and manufactured by TowardPi Medical has completed the Thai Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) certification. The first batch of orders to Thailand is expected to be delivered in the first half of this year, which will expand TowardPi's overseas installation coverage to the 26th country. In this regard, TowardPi Medical will become the first ophthalmic medical equipment brand from China under the BJC Healthcare branch.
