Recently, Neowise Biotechnology, Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Neowise Biotechnology), a company focused on the research and development of TCR-T immunocyte therapeutic drugs for solid tumors, announced that it has signed a non-exclusive licensing agreement with BeOne Medicines. Neowise Biotechnology will grant BeOne Medicines the rights to an antigen-specific TCR molecule independently developed by the company, for use in BeOne Medicines' development of next-generation universal cell therapy drugs based on the iPSC platform.
According to the agreement, Neowise Biotechnology will receive an upfront payment and, in future collaborative research projects based on the licensed TCR molecules, obtain milestone payments and a share of product commercialization sales based on the progress of research and development, registration, and the achievement of commercial milestones. BeOne Medicines will have the rights to use the licensed TCR molecules to develop next-generation cell therapy products and to commercialize them.Neowise Biotechnology, founded in 2020, focuses on the development of natural sequence TCR-T cell therapy drugs. The company has built the world's leading experimentally validated target antigen-natural TCR pairing database (CAST®), and the TCR molecule authorized this time comes from a TCR sequence in the CAST® database. Relying on its strong capability to discover antigen-specific natural TCR sequences, the company has established multiple R&D pipelines and achieved positive clinical results, demonstrating great potential for the treatment of various solid tumors.Dr. Peng Songming, Founder and CEO of Neowise Biotechnology, stated:Very pleased to collaborate with BeOne Medicines, expanding the application of our TCR molecules into new fields and supporting the development and clinical advancement of BeOne Medicines' next-generation cell therapy drugs. We appreciate BeOne Medicines' recognition of our technological advantages in the field of antigen-specific TCR discovery. This collaboration further validates the significant commercial value and broad clinical application prospects of the target antigen-natural TCR database we have built. Through this partnership, we hope to provide next-generation universal cell therapy drugs for cancer patients worldwide.Dr. Huang Shiming, Vice President of BeOne Medicines and Head of the Global Cell Therapy Research and Development Center, stated:As a global enterprise focused on innovation in cancer treatment, BeOne Medicines is actively exploring the diverse applications of universal iPSC-derived cell therapy in the field of cancer treatment. We are also working to establish an allogeneic, off-the-shelf cell therapy platform that leverages genetic modification technology to enable widespread application across different patients, achieving universality and broader accessibility in treatment. To accelerate the R&D process, we are proactively seeking diversified and multi-format strategic partners worldwide. This collaboration with Neowise Biotechnology will empower both parties to explore more treatment options for patients in the critical area of next-generation cell therapies.Source: Neowise Biotechnology
