OPHARMIC TECHNOLOGY (HK) LIMITED (Opharmic Technology (HK) Limited, hereinafter referred to as "Opharmic"), a platform company that develops ultrasonic technology to provide innovative solutions for patients and biopharmaceutical enterprises, recently announced the completion of a new round of financing.This round of financing was led by the Hong Kong Biotechnology Fund under Shanghai Industrial Capital, with participation from the E-Fund, and continued investment from existing shareholders.The funds will be used for the subsequent development and commercialization of the core pipeline.
Opharmic was founded in 2016 by Dr. Langston Suen (Wei Liang Sun), a graduate of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Based on the founding team's in-depth research into the effects of ultrasound in biological systems, the company leverages exceptional ultrasound engineering capabilities to develop an ultrasound technology platform that benefits multiple therapeutic areas. These include platforms for ocular drug delivery, transdermal delivery, and cell activation.

The Opharmic project is a very typical case of the commercialization of scientific research results from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. It is one of the first batch of investment projects after the establishment of E-Fund. The fund will make full use of its ecosystem resources to empower the Opharmic project, accelerating clinical development and commercial cooperation.
