Another companySyntis Bio Announces Completion of $33 Million Series A FinancingThe company focuses on developing oral targeted drugs for the treatment of obesity, diabetes, and rare diseases, with drug designs that precisely target the small intestine. The core project, SYNT-101, is a once-daily oral weight-loss medication that temporarily blocks nutrient absorption in the upper small intestine (duodenum) and redirects nutrients to the lower small intestine, thereby stimulating the natural secretion of satiety and metabolic regulatory hormones. The company is also advancing the development of other drugs for metabolic diseases.


Cloudbreak Pharma Officially Listed on HKEX, Raising a Total of HKD 612 MillionThe company has a Multi-Kinase Inhibitor (MKI) platform to develop small-molecule drugs targeting angiogenesis for treating ocular indications involving abnormal angiogenesis or vascular distribution. Additionally, the company owns an antibody-drug synergy platform focusing on antibody-small molecule drug conjugates. Currently, Cloudbreak Pharma has four drugs in clinical stages. Its core pipeline product, CBT-001, is a multi-kinase inhibitor used for preventing the progression of pterygium and reducing conjunctival hyperemia, and it is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials.


Another ophthalmology newcomer, FELIQS, has simultaneously completed a $9 million Series A financing round.The company focuses on developing small-molecule therapies targeting oxidized lipids. Its core pipeline, FLQ-101, aims to prevent retinopathy of prematurity, a disease that can cause blindness in premature infants. The drug promotes physiological retinal vascularization and inhibits inflammation and abnormal neovascularization. It has already been granted Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations by the U.S. FDA.
