Recently, Enka Therapeutics (Shanghai Enka Cell Technology Co., Ltd.) announced the completion of a nearly 100-million-yuan A+++ round of financing. The funds raised in this round will be used to advance clinical trials of core products and the development of new product pipelines, accelerating the clinical translation of NK cell drugs.

Shanghai NKCell Therapeutics Co., Ltd., established in 2020, is a biotechnology company focusing on the development of innovative NK cell therapy technologies. Based on the team's over 30 years of research into the fundamental biology of NK cells, as well as preclinical and clinical translational exploration, NKCell Therapeutics aims to become a world-leading cell therapy company with deep expertise in NK cell therapy and its cutting-edge technologies.

Enkai Cell Medicine, based on its exclusive allogeneic peripheral blood NK cell expansion and cryopreservation platform with clinical "off-the-shelf" grade ABCDE-NK® industrial production (a single blood donation can yield trillions of NK cells), relies on its NK cell-specific tumor recognition receptor/ligand target mining technology (NKR-NK™). Through synthetic immunology chassis technologies such as logic gate gene circuits (SynNK™), the company achieves multipotent, intelligent, and controllable genetic editing of NK cells, enabling them to precisely target cancer cells, adapt to the tumor microenvironment, and accurately match donor and recipient effector/target cells. In 2024, Enkai Cell Medicine has obtained clinical trial (IND) approvals from both the U.S. FDA and China's CDE for two of its NK cell products.

In the future, Enkaicell will focus on solving the treatment challenges of major clinical diseases (such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, aging and degenerative diseases, immunodeficiency and related diseases), with the goal of achieving precise immunotherapy. It has developed a series of original intelligent NK cell products, striving to build an immune cell drug company that continuously breaks through core technologies and maintains international leadership, and to become a global source of next-generation NK cell therapy technologies and products.

Tian Zhigang, founder of Enka Therapeutics and professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, stated: "Multiple product pipelines of Enka Therapeutics are advancing rapidly. The completion of this new round of financing will provide us with more sufficient financial support to accelerate the research, development, and clinical translation of our core pipeline drugs. We will continue to focus on innovation and breakthroughs in core technologies, expedite the enrichment, optimization, and upgrading of our pipelines, and bring more and better immunotherapy drugs to patients."
