Three CGT Companies Secure Funding to Advance NK Cell, CAR-T, and Gene-Regulatory Therapies

1、Enkai Saiyao:Nearly 100 Million A+++ Round Financing

In July, Enkaicell announced the completionNearly 100 Million A+++ Round FinancingThis round of financing was participated by Pudong Venture Capital and Starlight Biotechnology. The funds raised in this round will be used to advance the clinical trials of core products and the development of new product pipelines, accelerating the clinical transformation of NK cell drugs.

Enkaicell, established by the core technical team led by Professor Tian Zhigang from the University of Science and Technology of China, focuses on the research, development, and production of innovative cell-based drug technologies based on NK cells. It is committed to providing patients with more effective and safer precision immunotherapy solutions. In March 2020, with the strong support of the Shanghai Municipal Government, Zhangjiang Administrative Committee, and Zhangjiang Group, Enkaicell settled in the Zhangjiang Cell Industrial Park. By 2024, two of Enkaicell's NK cell products have successively received clinical trial (IND) approval from the U.S. FDA and China's CDE.

3、CoRegen: Completed $93.39 Million Financing

On July 9, clinical-stage gene therapy biotechnology company CoRegen announced the completion of a $93.39 million financing round.This financing was conducted through private placement to a small number of investors.

This round of financing will be used to advance CoRegen's Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) development and initiate a Phase 1/2 clinical trial for its Steroid Receptor Coactivator-3 (SRC-3) Knockout Regulatory T-cell (Treg) (SRC3-KO) project in the first half of 2026, targeting patients with various solid tumors. Additionally, key personnel will be recruited (including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, and other research and regulatory positions) to expand its leadership team, drive project execution, and support the company’s growth.
This round of financing builds on the $28 million CoRegen raised earlier in 2024, which was used to support its acquisition of an exclusive license from Baylor College of Medicine to sponsor the development of its innovative gene regulation platform.
