On July 25, the Yini® (YINI®) Cataract Phacoemulsification System, developed and produced by MicroPort NeuroTech (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. ("MicroPort NeuroTech"), received approval from the National Medical Products Administration for marketing in China.

It is reported that the floor-standing phacoemulsification device has reached an internationally leading level in key performance indicators such as nuclear fragmentation efficiency and fluid flow control, providing a high-quality solution produced in China for clinical cataract treatment, especially for complex surgical cases.
In terms of energy control, the core ultrasonic energy system of the minimally invasive phacoemulsification instrument adopts a six-piece piezoelectric ceramic driver, combined with a bell-mouth design at the needle tip to increase the gripping area and stability for nuclear fragmentation, making it suitable for more complex indications. In terms of fluid management, it is equipped with high-precision non-contact sensors that can monitor intraocular pressure and suction pressure in real time, ensuring stable intraoperative eye pressure. The high-performance precision peristaltic pump, along with a tapered roller design and rigid fluid channel box, effectively mitigates pressure "surges" during phacoemulsification needle blockages. The elastic silicone membrane structure closely adheres to the pump head, maintaining a stable negative pressure above 650mmHg to ensure continuous and effective suction.
Phacoemulsification is the "gold standard" for cataract treatment in current cataract therapy, with extremely high requirements for equipment in terms of energy release (determining nucleus fragmentation efficiency) and fluid management (ensuring surgical safety). In the past, phacoemulsifiers were mostly portable, making it difficult to fully meet all clinical needs; in the field of floor-standing phacoemulsifiers with stronger suction capabilities, more comprehensive intraocular pressure monitoring systems, and more efficient ultrasound energy release, imported brands have long dominated the market.
The Yini Floor-standing Phacoemulsification Unit, developed over five years, integrates multiple independent innovation technologies, marking a breakthrough for domestically produced ophthalmic medical equipment in this high-end performance field. During the development of this product, MicroPort Vision continuously accumulated key technologies and has established several core technology platforms covering areas such as ultrasound, fluidics, materials, and optics, providing strong support for existing and future product pipelines. This will offer more high-quality and accessible domestically produced medical solutions to patients with eye diseases.
Dr. Zhang Jie, Chief Technology Officer of MicroPort Greater China and Chairman of MicroPort Vision, stated: "Currently, more than 200 million patients in China are suffering from cataracts. The launch of the Yini Phacoemulsification System will help accelerate the adoption of advanced treatment technologies locally. In the future, we will continue to improve ophthalmic medical solutions and promote the development of domestically produced large-scale ophthalmic equipment, allowing more patients to access high-quality medical services."
