September 22, 2025, Australian biotechnology companyStarpharmaAnnounce, withGenentech, a member of the Roche GroupSign a cooperation and licensing agreement, both parties will utilize Starpharma's proprietary DEP® (dendrimer-enhanced product) drug delivery technology,Jointly develop a series of new cancer therapies.

According to the agreement,Genentech to Obtain Global Exclusive License from Starpharma for DEP® Platform, to integrate its existing anticancer drugs for the development and commercialization of dendrimer drug conjugates targeting certain tumor markers.
In return, Starpharma will receive a payment$5.5 millionThe upfront payment and is eligible to receive up to$564 millionThe development, commercialization, and net sales milestone payments. In addition, Starpharma will also receive royalties based on a tiered structure for the global net sales generated from the collaboration.
DEP® Platform is a proprietary drug delivery technology based on dendrimers, which can enhance the efficacy, safety, and targeted delivery capability of drugs. The technology offers high flexibility in drug formulation, applicable to small molecule drugs, peptides, proteins, and nucleic acid-based drugs, while also providing more possibilities for combination therapies and the development of broader cancer indications.
