【Pharmaceutical Network Medical Stock MarketRecently, Northland announced that, in order to further enhance the company's international level and brand image, make better use of domestic and overseas financing platforms, raise funds for the company’s long-term stable development, and strengthen its overall capabilities, the company plans to issue shares overseas (H shares) and apply for listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange based on its overall development strategy and operational needs. Previously, the company was listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange on November 24, 2020. As of the closing on October 10, the company's total market value was approximately 6.613 billion yuan, and the closing price had risen over 300% from the offering price.
Public information shows that Northland is an innovative biopharmaceutical company in China. Through its self-developed core technology platform, the company has established a rich product pipeline with a reasonable structure of marketed products, clinical-stage products, and preclinical products.
The company has multiple Class 1 new drugs under development, among which the injection of Cedominogene has been submitted for marketing registration and is expected to become China's first naked plasmid gene therapy product. Notably, in the first half of 2025, the commercialization work of Cedominogene Injection has carried out activities such as the formulation of commercialization strategies, organizational setup, and relevant market research. Currently, market research, academic promotion, channel expansion, access studies, and innovative payment solutions are being comprehensively implemented according to plan. Meanwhile, the construction of the company’s biopharmaceutical production base is proceeding in an orderly manner. The process design of various equipment in the bulk solution workshop has been completed, production and assembly are currently underway, and the mechanical and electrical systems as well as the purification engineering of the bulk solution workshop are being implemented as scheduled.
In addition, the company has already launched several self-developed products on the market, covering disease areas such as glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and anti-allergy treatments, while also providing contract research and manufacturing services to multiple enterprises.
In terms of bioengineering innovative drugs, the company currently has 11 bioengineering new drug projects in its R&D pipeline, including 5 gene therapy drug projects and 6 recombinant protein drug projects. The core product, "Sedoming Base Injection," has completed Phase III clinical research and submitted a marketing registration application for ulcer indications. Other innovative drug projects are in Phase III, Phase II clinical research, and preclinical research stages, respectively.
In terms of ophthalmic drugs, Beijing Northland Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and its secondary subsidiary Hui En Lan De collectively hold 8 registered product licenses for eye drop solutions. They have established 3 GMP-certified/inspected production lines (single-dose, multi-dose, and rinsing solutions). An additional single-dose production line has been completed and has successfully passed the GMP certification by the Beijing Center for Drug Evaluation and Inspection.
The industry believes that with the aggravation of population aging, continuous technological maturity, and capital entry, the market prospects for gene therapy drugs are broad. Data shows that by 2025, the size of China's gene therapy market will reach 123.6 billion yuan, increasing by 412% compared to 2020. Policies also support gene therapy; for instance, in 2024, the Drug Administration released the "Technical Guidelines for Clinical Research of Gene Therapy Products," explicitly allowing a "conditional marketing" model—companies can apply for early sales after meeting interim analysis criteria in Phase III trials while continuing to complete the trials. This flexible regulatory approach of "research and application simultaneously" not only protects patients' rights but also accelerates technology transformation. Currently, at least three domestically produced gene therapy drugs have been approved through this channel. If Northland's gene therapy drug project proceeds smoothly, it is expected to capture a share of the market "cake" in the future.
Financial data shows that Northland's main business revenue in the first half of 2025 was 36.5037 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.47%; the net profit attributable to shareholders was -19.7068 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.89%; the non-net profit was -20.3339 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.59%.
