Gelonghui October 21 | According to the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, the brain-computer interface company Science Corporation, founded by Max Hodak, the first president of Neuralink after his departure, has enabled blind patients to generate "artificial vision" through the implant PRIMA, allowing them to read text and do crossword puzzles. This implant is a microelectronic chip placed under the retina. The chip uses signals emitted by a camera mounted on a pair of glasses to transmit pulse currents, bypassing photoreceptor cells damaged by macular degeneration, which is a leading cause of vision loss in the elderly. The research findings were published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
