Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology recently announced the renewal and relaunch of the Johnson & Johnson China Academic Center. With cutting-edge technology training and digital empowerment as the core drivers, the center has established an immersive professional education system designed for future healthcare scenarios. It is expected to host 3,000 training sessions annually, reaching over 50,000 healthcare professionals. This upgrade marks a new phase in Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology's professional education strategy in China.

Zhou Mintao, President of Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology China, stated, "For over three decades, we have always moved forward in alignment with China's healthcare industry. China's healthcare sector is undergoing a critical transition from 'technology introduction' to 'capacity building.' The renewal of the Academic Center is our response to this trend. Looking ahead, Johnson & Johnson will use the Academic Center as a hub to continuously enhance the standardization, digitization, and internationalization of professional education, making quality education an important driving force for inclusive healthcare and helping the ecosystem for talent development in China's healthcare sector continue to thrive."

As a global leading medical technology enterprise, Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology has been deeply engaged in professional education in China for over three decades, consistently committed to promoting the cultivation of medical talent and the innovation of clinical techniques through a systematic and forward-looking training system. The newly refreshed academic center features a comprehensive layout.RobotIn cutting-edge fields such as surgery, cardiac rehabilitation management, and interventional treatment of arrhythmias, digital and intelligent training resources are being expanded in parallel to create a high-level academic and teaching hub that covers multiple disciplines and technological platforms.

This renewal marks an important advancement and implementation outcome of the strategic cooperation between Johnson & Johnson and the Beijing Municipal Health Commission. In May 2025, both parties established the Johnson & Johnson China Innovation Center in Beijing, focusing on three key areas: digital healthcare, professional talent incubation, and clinical applications in electrophysiology.

As a professional training base accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS), the newly renovated academic center will continue to serve as a practical hub for surgical education. At the international collaboration level, the partnership between Johnson & Johnson Medical Technologies and RCS has transitioned from project-based initiatives to a systematic development phase. The two parties have officially signed a five-year strategic cooperation agreement and established the RCS England-China Working Group to propel Chinese surgery from "aligning with international standards" toward "leading collaboratively." Since 2012, the two sides have established 15 accredited training centers in China, jointly developed 63 standardized course systems, and created "LeadMed," the first RCS-accredited digital education platform in China, continuously enhancing the standardization and accessibility of surgical education in China.

At the same time, Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology is actively exploring new models of cooperation with hospitals in China. Recently, Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical University. The two parties plan to carry out feasible strategic cooperation focusing on the standardized application of surgical robots and international talent cultivation. This includes exploring the co-establishment of China’s first modular surgical robot training and demonstration base. The collaboration will focus on standardizing the clinical application of surgical robots and enhancing surgeons’ capabilities, aiming to create a professional platform that integrates clinical technical training with international academic exchange. This represents a proposed strategic partnership in the fields of discipline development and talent cultivation, promoting medical-industry collaboration to advance the standardized application of surgical robots, with the hope of supporting the high-quality development of minimally invasive surgical techniques.

In terms of digital training, the academic center will focus on building digital capabilities by utilizing a digital remote surgical mentoring system and AI-based simulation teaching solutions to create an immersive teaching solution that breaks geographical limitations. Through the remote teaching model of "surgical mentoring + interactive Q&A," the coverage radius of high-quality medical resources has been significantly extended, allowing more surgeons to conveniently and efficiently access advanced skill training and clinical guidance. Additionally, the academic center actively promotes AI-driven personalized teaching research, using intelligent analysis of trainee operation data to assist in evaluating their abilities and recommending personalized advancement paths.

Looking to the future, Johnson & Johnson Medical Technology will continue to use professional education as a link, integrating global innovation with local practice, promoting the cultivation of medical talent in China, and bringing higher quality and accessible healthcare services to more patients.
