Glaucoma is the world's leading irreversible blinding eye disease, with over 20 million patients in China alone, and its incidence is rising year by year. Traditional surgical treatments have many limitations, such as greater trauma and a high rate of complications. Minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), due to its smaller incisions and higher safety, is becoming the mainstream trend in clinical treatment and industry development. However, in China, the MIGS products for glaucoma currently on the market are predominantly foreign brands. These products, developed by European and American companies for open-angle glaucoma, are not suitable for angle-closure glaucoma, which is more prevalent in Asia. Currently, there are no products specifically targeting angle-closure glaucoma patients available on the market.
