On January 6, in South San Francisco, California, Cartography Biosciences, Inc., a biotechnology company dedicated to advancing a pipeline of differentiated antibody-based cancer therapies, announced a strategic collaboration with Pfizer to jointly discover tumor-selective antigens. Under this multi-year agreement, Cartography will utilize its proprietary ATLAS and SUMMIT discovery platforms to identify and validate tumor-selective antigens in undisclosed indications. Pfizer has the option to participate in multiple antigens identified and validated through this collaboration and will be responsible for all research, development, and commercialization efforts targeting the selected antigens. Cartography’s lead program, CBI-1214, remains wholly owned by the company.Independently promote. The core component of the collaboration is Cartography’s ATLAS and SUMMIT platforms, which possess capabilities in target analysis and identification. ATLAS and SUMMIT employ proprietary approaches to address long-standing challenges in oncology: identifying antigens that precisely target cancer cells while sparing a significant number of healthy cells in the body. By comprehensively analyzing antigen expression across the full spectrum of healthy and tumor cell states, ATLAS and SUMMIT can identify antigens and antigen combinations with optimal tumor selectivity. Cartography’s platforms integrate extensive patient-derived datasets with advanced computational biology, antigen validation, and antibody engineering.
Under the terms of the collaboration, Cartography is eligible to receive up to $65 million in upfront, near-term milestone, and option exercise payments. If all options are exercised, the potential total deal value could exceed $850 million. Cartography is also eligible for future development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments, as well as tiered royalties on net sales for any programs advanced by Pfizer under the collaboration.

Cartography BiosciencesCEO Kevin Parker stated:"Our ATLAS and SUMMIT platforms are designed to uncover target biology that traditional tools cannot resolve, enabling the nomination of antigens and antigen pairs with high tumor selectivity, which are expected to significantly enhance treatment precision and patient outcomes. We are thrilled to collaborate with Pfizer, whose deep expertise in science, development, and regulatory affairs makes them an ideal partner."
