CAR-T Therapy Researcher
Group Leader Cai Yujia, Researcher at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Siyuan Scholar; recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project A, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee’s Youth Top Talent Project, and the First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award; Deputy Director of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Gene Editing and Cell Immunotherapy for Hematological Diseases. Ph.D. from Aarhus University, Denmark. Long committed to translational medicine research in gene therapy, making significant contributions in target discovery, vector development, and clinical translation. In the past five years, as corresponding author, published multiple papers in journals such as Nature, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Biomedical Engineering, and Cell Stem Cell. Research achievements selected for "Top Ten Advances in Chinese Ophthalmology" and "Top Ten Medical Research in China's Hematology Field." Multiple gene therapies based on laboratory technology have entered clinical stages, including CRISPR-based treatment for viral keratitis entering phase II clinical trials. Cai Yujia is also the founder of Shanghai Bendao Gene Technology Co., Ltd. and DeliNova Therapeutics. Supervised postdoctoral fellows who successfully obtained the National Postdoctoral Innovation Program, Shanghai Super Postdoc, and the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project C. The research group has sufficient funding to support cutting-edge exploratory research at the international level.
Research Direction:
1. Research on in vivo gene therapy, developing new treatments for CNS, blood, and ophthalmic diseases;
2. In vivo CAR-T cell therapy, developing the next generation of solid tumor cell therapies;
3. Discovery of new targets for immunotherapy such as T cells and DC cells.
