Beijing's Zhongguancun (Changping) Smart Ophthalmic Medical-Engineering Park Accelerates Ecosystem Aggregation and Files IPO Prospectus

On the fertile ground of Changping's billion-level pharmaceuticals and health industry cluster in Beijing, a new highland for the intelligent ophthalmology industry is rapidly emerging. According to reports from Chang Development Group, since the beginning of this year, Beijing's first intelligent ophthalmology medical engineering industrial park —Zhongguancun(Changping) Intelligent Ophthalmology MedTech Industrial Park Accelerates the Construction of an Innovation Ecosystem with Deep Integration of "Industry, Academia, Research, and Medicine"; the Park Has Already AttractedEyebright Medical, the presence of leading companies such as TowardPi will create a leading eye health industry cluster in China.

Covering a distance of 20,000 kilometers, the town of Concordia in Argentina, far away in South America, has recently welcomed two ophthalmic diagnostic devices from China — TowardPi’s Bei Ming. The two devices have been respectively installed at Lazari Clinic and Alvarez Ophthalmology Research Institute. What made the doctors in Concordia willing to pay a price much higher than that of European, American, or Japanese brands for medical equipment developed and manufactured in China? “The breadth, precision, and analytical capabilities of TowardPi’s OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) device completely surpass those of similar products, setting a new standard for our diagnostic capabilities and greatly enhancing clinical standards,” explained Dr. Horacio Lazari, founder of Lazari Clinic.

Representing the top level of ophthalmic medical equipment in China, TowardPi Medical has established its headquarters at the Intelligent Ophthalmology Medtech Industrial Park. This year, the company will continue to increase its R&D efforts in areas such as phacoemulsification and vitrectomy integrated machines, neurosurgical operating microscopes, and multimodal AI diagnostic and treatment systems, continuously filling gaps in relevant fields in China.

Currently, the park has also attracted Eyebright Medical, a national-level specialized and new "little giant" enterprise. Its self-developed "Pronom" aspheric intraocular lens fills the gap in China, with technology reaching the international forefront. The park not only gathers industry leaders but also focuses on nurturing potential enterprises. At present, a group of high-quality innovative companies have entered the incubation stage and are growing rapidly. In addition, Novartis Pharma's ophthalmic drug production line is being built around the park, forming a unique pattern of "equipment + drugs" coordinated development, providing comprehensive solutions for the whole process of ophthalmic diseases, and promoting the industry to move from single-point breakthroughs towards systematic innovation.

It is reported that the total construction area of the Intelligent Ophthalmology Industry Park is approximately 2.26 million square meters. The park focuses on core sectors such as ophthalmic devices and high-end medical equipment, rapidly establishing a full life-cycle industrial system covering research and development, transformation, production, and services. To address industrial transformation challenges, the park has strategically established the International Intelligent Medical Engineering Innovation Center and the Clinical Transformation and Demonstration Application Platform for Ophthalmic Medical Devices, providing comprehensive support to enterprises.
