Recently, TIROMU, an ophthalmic intelligent surgical robotics company, has completed a Pre-A round of financing worth tens of millions of RMB. This round of financing was jointly led by Aibohongsheng and Qihang Venture Capital, with Mingheng Meikang participating as a follow-up investor. The funds raised will be mainly used for the clinical implementation of ophthalmic intelligent surgical systems, iterative upgrades of core technologies, and industrialization layout, supporting the company in achieving breakthroughs in the localization of high-end medical equipment in the ophthalmology field.
TIROMU, founded in 2023, focuses on the research and development of microsurgical robots with high technological barriers, committed to providing intelligent solutions for ophthalmic diseases. The company’s core team comes from renowned institutions such as Tsinghua University and Waseda University in Japan, as well as surgical robotics companies like Airemax, Behope Weikang, and Meiya Medical.
As of now, TIROMU has been awarded the status of a National High-tech Enterprise, a "Specialized, Precise, Unique, and Innovative" enterprise in Beijing, and has been selected as one of the 2025 Artificial Intelligence Medical Device Innovation Task "Top Priority" units. In terms of product development, TIROMU's self-developed robotic system for intravitreal injection has entered the clinical trial stage, with completion of trials and initiation of registration expected this year. The product employs a 6 degrees-of-freedom mainstream architecture combined with a differentiated rail-type RCM structure, overcoming traditional limitations in machining accuracy and workspace, achieving an execution precision of 2μm. Based on in-depth collaboration with top ophthalmology experts from leading tertiary hospitals across China, the product has successfully launched multi-center clinical trials and patient enrollment.

TIROMU's Self-Developed Fundus Surgery Robot
Its unique master-slave mapping algorithm can flexibly adjust the mapping ratio according to surgical needs, reducing the doctor's hand movements to the micron level, which significantly enhances operational precision and flexibility. Meanwhile, version 2.0 has completed development, achieving real-time surgical path planning and navigation by integrating intraoperative OCT imaging, with the potential to become the industry's first ophthalmic surgical robot equipped with "autonomous driving" capabilities, further improving the standardization and intelligence of surgeries.
In addition, TIROMU has deep expertise in areas such as end-effector perception, precision drive control, and artificial intelligence algorithms. It has also secured numerous patents around core technologies like master-slave control, force feedback, and adjustable mapping ratios, establishing a comprehensive intellectual property system covering mechanical design, control algorithms, and surgical navigation. Notably, the company's development is not limited to ophthalmology; it is simultaneously advancing research and development in otolaryngology, neurosurgery, and other fields, gradually building an intelligent solution ecosystem for microsurgery that spans multiple disciplines.
Notably, since its establishment in 2023, TIROMU has completed four rounds of financing in just over two years, securing continuous investments from several well-known institutions, including Zhongguancun Qihang Fund, Guoxin Hongsheng, and Mingheng Industrial Investment. For a surgical robotics company founded only two years ago, gaining multiple rounds of recognition from the capital market during the product's clinical stage is already relatively rare in the high-end medical equipment field, fully demonstrating investors' confidence in the company’s technological approach and implementation capabilities.
