Jiangxi Province Announces Results of Volume-Based Price-Linked Drug Procurement Set to Take Effect on June 1, 2026

On May 12, the official website of Jiangxi Provincial Medical Security Bureau consecutively released the "Notice on Implementing the Selected Results of Volume-based Price Linkage Procurement for Pharmaceuticals in Jiangxi Province" and the "Notice on Publishing the Selected Results of Volume-based Price Linkage Procurement for Pharmaceuticals in Jiangxi Province," drawing widespread attention from the industry.

The Notice clearly states that all public medical institutions at various levels in the province and military medical institutions stationed in Jiangxi should participate. It encourages the "three-entry" units of centralized procurement drugs to actively participate, and the scope of varieties includes the selected varieties from the volume-based price linkage procurement of drugs in Jiangxi Province.

Starting from 00:00 on June 1, 2026, medical institutions across Jiangxi Province will implement the selected results. The procurement cycle will run from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, with procurement agreements signed annually during the cycle. If the agreed-upon procurement volume for the year is completed ahead of schedule during the procurement cycle, the selected enterprises will continue to supply the products at the selected price for the excess portion until the end of the procurement cycle. However, the agreed procurement volumes for the entire province and each medical institution will be determined according to the relevant rules outlined in the "Jiangxi Province Drug Volume-Based Price Linkage Procurement Work Plan" and will be notified separately.

By reviewing the list of selected products in Jiangxi Province's volume-based drug price linkage procurement, it was found that there are 99 varieties and 246 products, all of which are chemical drugs (see the attached figure at the end of the article). Among them, the company with the most selected products is Dandong Yichuang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., with 7 products selected, followed by Qilu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., with 6 products selected.

The Joint Conference Office for Centralized Procurement of Medicines and Medical Consumables in Jiangxi Province requires that the medical security departments in each prefecture-level city issue quarterly reports on the implementation status of medical institutions within their jurisdictions. For enterprises unable to fulfill their supply obligations as required, measures such as interviews, orders for rectification, and public notifications may be taken. Relevant situations must be reported to the Provincial Medicine Price and Procurement Service Center for handling in accordance with the credit evaluation system for medicine prices and procurement.
