The increase in vaccination coverage in Brazil contrasts sharply with the global situation, where immunization rates have stagnated. According to WHO-UNICEF documents, the number of children in Brazil who did not receive any doses of the DTP vaccine (which prevents diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis) decreased from 418,000 in 2022 to 103,000 in 2023.
