  【Pharmaceutical Network Industry DynamicsAccording to industry statistics, as of July 25, more than five leading multinational pharmaceutical companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Roche, AstraZeneca, Novartis, and Sanofi, have released their financial reports for the first half of 2024, with overall revenue growth maintaining an upward trend.
 
In terms of revenue, Johnson & Johnson ranked first with a total revenue of $43.83 billion in the first half of 2024, compared to $42.413 billion for the same period last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.34%, surpassing market expectations. Of this, innovative pharmaceuticals revenue was $14.49 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, and medical technology revenue was $7.957 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%. The cumulative net profit for the first half of the year was $7.941 billion, compared to $5.076 billion for the same period last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 56.44%.
 
Following them are Roche and AstraZeneca, with revenues reaching $33.719 billion and $25.617 billion, respectively. According to Roche's report, in the first half of the year, driven by high demand for pharmaceuticals and diagnostic products, the company's sales increased by 5% year-on-year; net profit was 6.697 billion Swiss francs ($7.566 billion), a year-on-year decrease of 4%. In particular, in the first half of the year, Roche's pharmaceutical business revenue reached 22.637 billion Swiss francs ($25.573 billion), up 5% year-on-year; diagnostic business revenue was 7.211 billion Swiss francs ($8.146 billion), up 5% year-on-year. Notably, in terms of the pharmaceutical segment, by region, China's market sales achieved double-digit growth to 1.609 billion Swiss francs ($1.818 billion), up 14% year-on-year, mainly benefiting from the strong sales performance of Perjeta (pertuzumab), Alecensa (alectinib), Avastin (bevacizumab), Xofluza (baloxavir marboxil), and Polivy (polatuzumab vedotin, for blood cancer).
 
From the perspective of revenue growth, AstraZeneca showed strong performance in the first half of the year, with total revenue increasing by 18% year-on-year to reach $25.617 billion. Among this, product sales revenue was $24.629 billion, marking an 18% year-on-year increase. Specifically, Oncology business revenue grew by 15% year-on-year to $5.331 billion; Vaccines and Immunity (V&I) business revenue dropped by 57% year-on-year to $119 million; Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CVRM) business revenue increased by 18% year-on-year to $3.160 billion; Respiratory and Immunology (R&I) business revenue rose by 23% year-on-year to $1.905 billion; Rare Disease business revenue reached $2.147 billion, reflecting a 10% year-on-year increase. Additionally, AstraZeneca's revenue in the Chinese market for the first half of the year was $3.378 billion, representing a 15% year-on-year increase.
 
Due to strong product sales and collaboration revenue, AstraZeneca has also raised its full-year revenue and core earnings per share guidance for 2024 (at constant exchange rates). The company now expects total revenue and core earnings per share for the full year 2024 to increase by 15%-16% (mid-teens percentage), compared to the previous forecast of a 10%-14% (low double-digit to low-teens percentage) growth.
 
Novartis' revenue growth in the first half of the year also exceeded 10%, reaching approximately 11%. According to the financial report disclosed by Novartis for the first half of 2024, the company's net sales in the first half of 2024 were $24.3 billion, an increase of 11% year-on-year at constant exchange rates; net profit was $5.9 billion, an increase of 43% year-on-year. Sales in China were strong, reaching $2.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29%. This is mainly due to the sales growth of Novartis' core drugs, with several innovative drugs accelerating their market uptake, becoming the driving force behind performance growth. The financial report also shows that in the first half of 2024, Pluvicto, Zolgensma, Lutathera, and Leqvio all achieved strong sales growth, with the total sales of the four drugs in the half-year reaching $1.976 billion. Among them, Leqvio increased by 137% year-on-year, reaching $333 million, showing substantial growth potential.
